Pls.help me to solve the following prob:

1)ARCNET communication error
Image Processing PCB (6901-0080)

2)LVDS Communication error
6902-00E1

I plugged & unplugged all connectors like optical fibre,LVDS etc. of the image processing PCB & Connectors of other PCB around the Image Processing PCB.I also reloaded the software but problem persists.

By the by,it is found that the flat cable from image processing PCB(P72)is ragged(1/2 cell) by rat & it has been reapired manualy for test purpose.Should it be replaced with the new one for test?

Good Day New year before you go for new PCB try and check connector J/P 70 it is a black cable that is the ARCNET cable that link the Image pcb with Printer control pcb,[2] check led 9 to 12 is it blinking at interval of 500 ms or out if it is out you can change the memory pcb it maybe faulty,[3]replace the cable that you say is rag because if the wire inside has bridge it can make Image pcb to work abnormal,[4]If the digital ice pcb is faulty it can make Image pcb to work abnormal

Please chk the LED statas on the image processing PCB when you swtich on the machine.Than let me know the statas.if the all led is bliking than maybe your image pcb is OK.

Hi New year, finally after making sure the Arcnet cables are properly connected, open control panel, System, Hardware, device manager and uninstall the LVDS and Arcnet software. Then place your profile data CD in the ROM drive and restart your system. this will re install the software drivers if they are corrupted. Let us know your progress.

Hi Edward,
From profile CD it does not reinstall the LVDS and Arcnet software.
Rather it wants floppy disk of LVDS software in drive "e".
Can u suggest more..

The LVDS and ARCNET drivers are installed when you load the main system software CD.
Quit the Noritsu software if it's running. Go into the Windows device manager and uninstall the 2 NKC devices.
On the main system software CD there is an icon that says DelOldDriver, run this.
Now run the setup on the same CD, reboot the PC when it asks you to.
Now when the PC starts up it should load the drivers for the ARCNET and LVDS cards.

Another prob arises: I took the flat cable to a computer technician.He cut the torn end & installed a new 50 pin female port & with this flat cable when i try to re-install the main software then everything is terminting abnormaly except the colorimeter section,i.e the software is not being installed.

Should i try with the original flat cable or have u any experiences about the flat cable from the local market.

Would u pls.give the part no of this flat cable?

It is not the flat cable causing this problem.
Check the ARCNET card and fibre optic cables are connected properly.
The software upgrade uses just the fibre optic network except the colorimeter which uses the COM port.

Dear Noritsu help,
Arcnet card & fibre optic cable connected properly this time so far & i also replaced flat cable(j73 to p282).This time always gives the message" 1)ARCNET communication error
image Processing PCB (6901-0080)

& sometimes 2)LVDS Communication error

I also tried to uninstall 2 drivers under nkc & run from DelOldDrive icon But problem remains same.

Moreover,during reloading of main system software everything is being upgraded except Digital Ice & Image processing PCB-1,2,3.

Should i reload the software everytime after troubleshooting as because the software is not loaded fully.

Pls suggest.

Hi Noritsu help,
Update:Software could be upgraded & from sytem version checkup it is found that everything became ok except "Digital Ice"
But now the two messages still appearing:
1)ARCNET communication error
image Processing PCB (6901-0080)
2)LVDS Communication error
image Processing PCB (6902-0080)

Still, the following two drivers could not be installed although i followed the procedure as u suggested earlier:

1)ARCNET Driver(mutiple cpu support)
2)LVDS(PIU)Driver(mutiple cpu support)

If the drivers look like this picture http://froggypic.com/images/ef1af3e71d7003b47a165595b5335404.bmp they are installed correctly.

I think your drivers are installed correctly, because you can see the communication in the system version check display.

The Arcnet connection going to the image processing PCB is via a RJ11 type plug, this is connected to the laser control PCB. Check this connection is good.

Check the LED's 1-8 on the image processing PCB are all lit, they should be flickering on and off very fast. If they are not there is a problem, maybe damaged SD RAM.
Check the digital ICB PCB is seated properly.

It is possiable the image processing PCB had been damaged by the Rat chewing through the cable.

Hi noritsu help,

led 5,7 not lit
led 1,2,6,8 lit but not blinks
led 3,4 lit & blinks

Now, during opening the qss software the before two messages are appearing & being cleared by pressing clear tab & the machine is becoming ready.But when i go for a single printing then command accepts,cuts paper,process it & finally comes out blank page & gives the message"printer system error 6056-0018" & 2nd command does not response.

No extra PCB & SDRAM is availavle with me.

So, considering the situation can u pls. suggest me other way to resolve the problem.

Hi New Year,

I have encountered the similar problem before. As Anand said the problem cause by Image Processing PCB.
Actualy the 8 LED on Image Processing should litting on by one and repeat.
But unfortunately you have no Image Processing to try...Good luck

"qss_dsp.exe has generate error and will be close by windows"

Run a Windows disk check on the hard drive. Ask it to check for bad sectors and fix file system errors.
When this has completed, try installing the QSS software again.

If you still have problems, you will need to do a Windows recovery, and a complete software reload.
Don't forget to copy the Noritsukoki folder located on the C drive before you do this, as this contains all the machine backup data.
